about
“I offer a personalised and professional approach and am passionate about helping people gain optimum health”
Based in Brighton, East Sussex, healthy-u is run by Monique Kleinveld. I am a qualified naturopathic medicine and nutrition practitioner. I am also a food intolerance and health screening therapist and functional medicine clinician. I have a diploma and advanced diplomas in holistic nutrition practice, allergy intolerance therapy, certificate in naturopathic nutrition, Asyra Pro Health Screening System and functional medicine training. I also hold a post graduate diploma in management development.
I have over 15 years experience of working in the mental health, special needs, counselling, management and health sectors. I have also worked for the ambulance service as a qualified ambulance woman, responding to 999 accidents and emergencies. I speak Spanish, French, German and Dutch. I also spent three years working on sailing yachts abroad, giving me an opportunity to sample and get to know a whole range of foods, spices and herbs with medicinal benefits.
I gained a keen interest in complementary medicine including homeopathy, herbalism, acupuncture, chiropractor, osteopathy and Alexander technique because of my own long-standing health problems. These included illnesses such as hepatitis and meningitis as a child, and then low immunity, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), candida and other parasites and bacteria, headaches and migraines, a broken back, thyroid, adrenal fatigue, ME/CFS symptoms, EBV and lyme as an adult. Thanks to naturopathic medicine, natural health and a nutritional support programme, I now enjoy plenty of vitality and excellent health.

naturopathic medicine
With the healing power of nature you are coached to improve the quality of your life. The focus is on building health and regenerating one’s self, not simply treating symptoms or disease. We work to strengthen the body’s vital force which then stimulates true healing in the body. We look for the cause and triggers of your symptoms and address this dysfunction through an individual plan that can integrate diet, nutrition, lifestyle, physical movement, nutritional supplementation, botanical/herbal medicine, medical foods, energy medicine and homeopathy.
